If you have a home computer and you want to skip the password input every time you boot your computer, there is a simple way in Windows Vista and Windows 7 to do this. I do not recommend to to this with your work computer or your laptop (that you might loose) but if you are using a home theater PC it might be a good idea, so here it is.
1. Go to Start->Run or press Windows key + R. A new windows will pop-up. In it, write “control userpasswords2” and hit OK.
2. A new dialog will display, populated with your current windows users. Select the user name you want to auto-login and be sure to uncheck “users must enter a user name and password to use this computer” checkbox. Hit OK again.
3. The final dialog will pop-up prompting you to input the password for the selected user name. Do it twice and hit OK for the last time. At the next reboot the computer should be able to log-in automatically, without prompting you again.
4. If for any reason you want to UNDO this action, just follow the first two steps, but at the step 2 select the user and CHECK this time the “users must enter a user name and password to use this computer” checkbox. Hit OK, reboot, and next time you will be asked to input your password again.
