Redsn0w 0.96rc14 untethered jailbreak now supports iOS 4.3.2, iPad 2 still out of luck

Shortly after iOS 4.3.2 was released by Apple, the iPhone Dev Team released a new Redsn0w version, RC 14 (0.96rc14) that performs…you know what already. The jailbreak is untethered (meaning you only have to perform it once) and is very similar with the previous method since, luckily Apple has not close the vulnerability the tool is using since iOS 4.3.1.

The new redsnow update works on all iOS devices supporting iOS version 4.3.2 with the sad exception of iPad 2 which at this point is proving to be a tougher nut to crack than the previous devices, thanks to Apple’s hardware changes. We’ll wait patiently though and provide you with updates as soon as we have them. Meantime, if you want to jailbreak your iOS 4.3.2 toy, download redsnow from here and follow the instructions we published for iOS 4.3.1. They are identical. Just be sure to download the right 4.3.2 ipsw files for your device (links after the break). Read More…

HBO Go to launch on mobile platforms, stream shows to its subscribers on iPad, iPhone and Android smartphone and tablets

Following a common trend of making shows available for streaming, HBO joins the game with their new app, HBO Go. Sometime at the beginning of May, HBO Go is slated to launch on a variety of smartphones and tablets running iOS and Android. What is really interesting is its availability on Android, a platform rather untouched by the big players in media streaming until now (Netflix, Hulu) for its lack of DRM technology. The situation is slowly changing and Android which currently has a larger market-share than iOS is obviously starting to get the goods.

The new app, as promised in the following video clip will provide all HBO shows and a large collection of movies (although not the entire HBO portfolio, for the lack of proper streaming agreements)

Note: You can also stream HBO Go via your PC in Flash HD. You need to be a subscriber through an existing cable / satellite service and you’ll have HBO Go for free. Unfortunately, there is no way at this point to only subscribe to HBO’s streaming service.

If you waited until now to get Dell’s shiniest tablet to date – Dell Streak 7, wait no longer. Amazon has is available for sale right now, for $379.99 (and of course, no contract being WiFi only) no taxes and free shipping in most of US.
A direct competitor, not for iPad 2 since the form factor differs, but for Samsung Galaxy Tab, Dell Streak provides a very fast processor – dual core 1GHz Tegra T20, 16GB flash storage, dual camera, the front one 1.3MB, the rear one 5MP, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. Multi-touch capacitive screen, Adobe Flash 10.1 and Android 2.2 are also part of the standard package with Honeycomb officially supported at some point in the future.

Based on various reviews around the web, the tablet is also capable of playing effortlessly 1080p videos (you’ll have to get the optional HDMI out dock to take advantage of this resolution though)
